Most of you know my story of what I did on Monday-I don't feel like repeating it, but it was alot of activity, more that I had done in a solid year.

I was so sick last night, throwing up and bad pain, and today my fever is a 103.

I am not whining because it is my fault for doing what I did, and was warned by so many people...

It just sucks not being able to do anything without paying for it physically!!!!

Why is it and it is so unfair-I am trying to start a recycling committee on the island, and it is going well, but physically I know I will pay greatly for anything I do!!!!

I am so frustrated!!!!

I know the feeling and empathize. It really is a downer. I hope we pound through this someday and can be normal once again. What you did was commendable.

It just bothers me so bad that I am working so hard to set up a committee and don't know whether or not I will be able to follow through.

The good thing is most people know of my sickness..

I understand, and do battle with denial and feelings of unfairness on a regular basis, but at a certain point we have to accept that we are sick, and try to live within our means for the time it takes to get well. If we don't, we can end up setting ourselves back, sometimes badly. Then the stress and upset caused by that setback can increase the damage.

I have been trying to learn to meditate at least once a day, especially when I start to get stressed out. Controlled breathing alone has helped at times. I have been where you are, many times, and got angry at the world, this illness, and myself.

It might help to look at other websites and forums for other people who experience loss of ability, like late-stage AIDS patients, Cancer patients going through chemotherapy and radiation, or people with heart failure. Some of us are at that level of ability, some have more ability, but the same concepts can apply.

They should have plenty of ideas for coping with chronic illness, and still keeping a sense of worth and purpose in life. Sickness and disease can teach us to become adaptive, and think of ways to live with happiness and give to others that don't hurt us in the process.

Perhaps there is a way to manage this Committee without being so active, or maybe you can delegate to someone you trust, and work on another project that does not necessitate you working yourself to such levels of sickness.

The age of the internet can be a boon for ill people today - you can research, start a website, run a small business, start a movement, be an activist, trade options....

I can't even imagine what very sick people did with their time in bed or housebound, before TV, inexpensive books, and the internet. They must have had some very interesting wallpaper in those days!

Amen about the internet-it occupies alot of my time. Mostly I read though-I devour books and magazines!

I love to read!

It has been a terrible day, fever and pain are severe, so there will be no activity for me anymore-I learned my lesson well, it is just a hard pill to swallow.

Thanks for your reply nene!
