Hello Gang!! Did you miss me? I havent been on alot because I havent been feeling too well and am usuing my busts of energy to make money when I can.
Ok, so remember when I told you that I was burnt really bad on my hands and face. Well, I went to my LLMD yesterday and I have sun posioning. I hardly burn let alone get poisoning. Its AWFUL on my hands. I look like a science experiment gone wrong!
So, I know everyone has seen it on the bottles and been told here. But take advice from this DUMMY, it says it for a reason!!! I got mainly burnt driving! Wear gloves!!
OK, so I was taken off Doxy yesterday and put on 500 mg of Zithomax. Any experiences on this care to share?
I hope all of you are well. I miss my lyme family

Oh yes, I got that too! I had to wear gloves when I drove and was on doxy! Even in the winter ... sunscreen did not work. I got cute gardening gloves with flowers on them so they looked like happy gloves ... even if I looked silly.

JaimeB OH BOY - I got this really bad also. Blistered on hands and arms - open sores. I thought I would be scarred for life! And I found the healing process to be a bit itchy! I recommend a gel sold at most health stores called "Scar Gel" by Derma E products. Mothers, Henry's Market, Whole Foods, VitaCost - they all have it. Use this daily and then slather on a good quality Aloe Vera Gel before bed at night. My family has used this after skin cancer surgery and various things and it really works. I healed with only one teny tiny scar on one arm. Amazing. Good luck! -peedie

I am thinking of asking to get off doxy cause this sun thing is bugging me! It's depressing to sit in the house all day because you can't go in the sun.
Then we might go to Florida in December so if I get a new med that works for me I might stick with it for awhile. Any suggestions?
Hope my LLMD will agree!
Oh and hi Six. We are on all the pages. LOL

I was lucky.
I went outside on Saturday, not even thinking.
I got a little red on my nose, but nothing else I could see.
What was weird was that for a few days I had tingling on the tops of my hands, mostly when I was in water.
I thought for sure I had some nerve damage, but it seems to have gone away.

There is a very good sunscreen you can get at Walgreen's (haven't found it anywhere else) It is in a little pot - 45+zinc oxide Sunscreen. My friend recommended it who uses it for her skin that has bouts of skin cancer. You have to have the one with the zinc oxide -- it does go on clear.

OMG!! I just had the same thing happen to me and I just bought gloves to wear when driving.
When I got burned it immediately gave me sharp pin prick like pains. I wasn't really sure it was a sunburn at first because I don't usually burn that way, but after I started peeling I realized it really was a burn. It kind of came as a shock to me because I have relatively dark skin so I never burned easily in the past.
