I was diagnosed with Lyme about a week ago and started today on
I've been feeling light-headed, drugged up like, and have experienced an increase in muscle and eye lid twitching.
I'm assuming that this is all a "normal" herx reaction, but I need reassurance so that I don't freak out and stop taking the meds.

Hi, nnlpups! I am sorry you are feeling poorly. Herxing can cause our present symptoms to become worse and will bring out new symptoms. I know.. fun! Meanwhile, I think if you have a concern with how you are feeling it would be good to check in with you LLMD.
Some have specific ways to deal with a herx reaction. Others want you to stop until the herx resolves. Perhaps you need a smaller dose? Or just a single antibiotic to start with? These are things I would be discussing with my doc.
Hope you feel better soon! Karen
