Hello. Is it normal to have loss of appetite when starting rifampin? I just googled the side effects and I didnt see that as one of the side effects.

Hi,
I just started Rifampin this week too.
I don't know about loss of appetite, but boy am I nauseated and dizzy!
I suppose all that could contribute to loss of appetite.
It just depends on how your body reacts to it.
I kind of rolled my eyes when I read the serious side effects--flu-like symptoms, body aches, fever, blah, blah, blah.
All those things that happen when you herx--how do you tell the difference?
I sure don't want to tell the pharmacist I'm "herxing," and my LLMD is very hard to get a hold of.
Anyway, I hope your body adjusts to the Rifampin soon--my pharmacist said it could take weeks!

Something else I'm experiencing right now is that I get really hungry, but when I try to eat, I just get sick looking at the food.
This has all started since the Rifampin, so I think it's tied to that.
I get sickish with Doxy too, but that I can at least figure out.
This I can't.
