I had a bad fall on Friday which automatically resulted in excruciating pain in abdomen.
I thought just pulled muscle, had lots of ice on it, and wasn't all that concerned until I started thowing up nonstop.
Went to ER, and told them I was on blood thinners and my PT had been a 5 day before and things started moving really fast, they said very concerned about internal bleeding.
They did Cat scan and said I had a 8 x 8 section of blood in abdomen and thecould not operate because blood was so thin.
They admitted me, had lots of monitors etc around clock, and repeated CAT scan 2 times-area of blood shrank a litte-
which was enough for them to be able to let me go home so yesterday afternoon I begged to go home.
I knew it would be risky, and the slightest bump could be very dangerous, but having spent many months in hospital last year, did not want to be in one again.
They sent me home, but sat family friend down with big lecture on how to take care of me.
I am on complete bed rest for at least a week if not longer.
I hate being on blood thinners-my life will never be normal again. I have to be so careful to not get bumped or anything!
Prayers will be greatly appreciated-Thanks!

supposed to go to doc who saw me in hospital on wednesday, but can't drive so don't know how i will make it.
will try to find a ride-the pain i had is a little better, so i can tell from it whether it is getting bigger or smaller.
hope i can tell from how i feel if things change-will call 911 because i will be alone all week.
have no family around, and parents can't shut their business down to take off to take care of me.
i am going to just lay around and be so careful-not even walk at all, if at all possible-which will be very hard for me.
i will need alot of prayers and support this week-please be my pen pal this week, everyone that can.
thanks

astria,
wow, girl; you just don't get any breaks do you?!!! i'm so sorry, and will be happy to write you this week also and sending ENDLESS PRAYERS for god to help get rid of this 8x8" area of blood!
my dad was on blood thinnners at least 20 yrs. and astria, it did NOT slow him down! he died at age 86...couple months short of being 87!
dad had everythign under the sun! had 2 aortic valve replacements & another one should have been but it was too dangerous.
had endless operations, etc. twice was paralyzed from his neck down; twice recouped from these strange illnesses.
do you have any CLOSE neighbors that can check in on you daily also?
do you have LIFELINE down there? i just got hubby hooked up to that 1.5 wks. ago. he wears it around his neck; in trouble; push button & it rings to lifeline co. who will contact local ER room at hospital if you need help & none of the 3 contacts are home.
best wishes on getting better and not falling, etc.

I am officially about to go crazy!!! I just told Jack my dog that I don't know how many days of this I could take.
Complete and utter bedrest???
It is very excruciating to walk, so I don't have any choice, but still. And I will have a very high price to pay if I don't follow rules.
I am awaiting magazines and books that people have offered to mail me and I hope they come very soon!

last night i could not go to sleep so i started doing some internet research to better educate myself.
they said what i had is a hematoma and it is massive, and the internet said it takes 3 months to go away, and i need to be in hospital because of the high dose of blood thinners
they also mentioned a blood transfusion several times, so now i am worried, plus a mortality rate of 25%????
on sunday i demanded to go home, i could not stop crying, felt like i was losing my mind
now i am scared and worried, so i will definately take it easy
the pain is terrible this morning, but not like it was when i went to er
i don't know if a suture came lose from an old surgery when i fell or what?
is so the bleeding will have to be stopped before i can get better-i want to scream!!!
last week i had bad back pain and could not move my right leg, so i honestly think this is all related somehow.
sorry to ramble on, i just have alot of questions and no answers
