Are there any babies born healthy iIf women are treated for chronic lyme and go in remission and then get pregnant and have antibiotic tx throughout the pregnancy?

All i read is that children are born with it even when the mothers are treated.. I have not seen any stories where the children are born healthy..

I have had Lyme since I was a child. I gave birth to 5 children, one has Lyme (but was bitten and tick was attached for a few days, so no way to know if it was from me). I was not treated at all prior to or during pregnancy as I was undiagnosed and OB/gyn thought my Lyme flare was merely me exaggerating my pregnancy symptoms (he was always unsupportive and even ridiculed me when I got diagnosed .... he clearly thought I was a hypochondriac).

So, my kids were born healthy. [Smile]

hezzer - i've been thinking about this too.

i'm in my early 20s and the possibility of a baby is something i'd like to have on my horizon, sometime in the future.

if treatment before pregnancy prevents the baby from inheriting lyme - that'll definitely be a huge motivator to go thru the full treatment.

which mother would want to, knowingly, put her child thru all the pain and problems that lyme causes?!?

sixgoofykids - so are u saying that even without treatment none of your kids inherited the lyme?

anyone else to chime in on this?
