Strange of all of the mainstream doctors I have seen my cardiologist is the most Lyme literate. Today, after my appt. he asked me about my knee pain.
Then he said I would bet your past Lyme is to blame there. He said "You know Lyme can reoccur after treatment." I said "if you have a few hours I could tell you all about Lyme." He said he had a 19yr old patient a few months ago, that was getting ready to have a pacemaker put in. He had irregular heart beats, tachycardia, and a minor blockage that was not seen on MRI.
He and his assistant decided to test him for Lyme on a hunch, a few days later and the test came back positive. After treatment he didn't need a pacemaker. He said "You don't want to mess around with Lyme." I said "I am glad you are Lyme literate, I wish more doctors understood Lyme like you do." He said I am seeing more and more of it in the past few years to ignore it. There is a little hope for the mainstream docs out there.

WOW, that is so good to hear!
I had heart issues (still have thumps, bumps and skips) before I knew I had lyme and did see a cardio guy.
He sent me on my way and said.. Your heart is FINE.
Little did I know I had lyme, which I discovered a few months later. They should REALLY make lyme testing a follow up test for first time heart patients. It makes so much sense.

Wow! I have long suspected my husband has Lyme. He had a heart attack a year and a half ago at age 51. He has other Lyme symptoms too, but doesn't think he is affected.
My husband sees his cardiologist every six months. I hope to go with him to his next appointment. Maybe his cardiologist will be enlightened too and I can encourage him to test for Lyme.

Such an awesome cardio!!!!
I wonder if that 19yo's tachycardia went away or not? I've had chronic tachycardia for many, many years... and palps. The abx has helped the palps to an extent but I still have tachycardia and have to take a beta blocker to control it. Abx treatment has not helped it to slow down or calm down except the one time I was on Bartonella treatment I was able to stop the beta blocker for a while because it did slow down to normal for around two months but as soon as I started a new abx regimen and started herxing, the tachycardia came back and I had to start the beta blocker again.

very good news! My cardio didnt think of it at age 35 and had my palps not stopped abruptly, as abruptly as they came on (they still come and go but man for a few months they were debilitating!) i would have been candidate for a pacemaker too...and he would have just done it.
hate to say it but think its going to be more mainstreamers coming across it and going WOW!! they WERE right!!
