I have Lyme /Bart and am being treated for Babs. I have been on a heavy dose of Malarone/Doxy for a while now and just stopped the Malarone because I got afraid that it was the culprit for how bad I feel and for the red dots and small blood blisters on the inside of my mouth.

In the last few weeks on Malarone I have been getting horrible stomach muscle aches and horrible back aches like having the flu without the sneezing or high fever. But generally feeling awful. That seems to come and go. Then I started noticing red dots on the inside of my cheeks and small blood blisters that seem to come and go too.

Any one have any thoughts. Thank you!

It sounds like you have a combination of Herxing (flu aches etc) and possible drug side effects (blood blisters in mouth, etc.) going on.

Have you told your Doctor or called your Pharmacist? I would do that right away.

Good call stopping the med until you figure this out. Those mouth blisters do not sound normal to me, but I may be wrong. I have not read much about Malarone yet, or people's responses to it here.

Babesia can cause petechiae rash. Maybe that is what is going on inside your mouth.....perhaps the babesia is flaring from the drugs.

Look up petechiae on google.
