I am a newly diagnosed Lymie and was just told today I would be started on IV antibiotics.

I am trying to find out as much as possible.

How do they put the picc in? Where?

Does it hurt?

Do you have to stay in the hospital or is it outpatient?

What are the treatments like?

What are the risks and complications?

Thank you so much for any info!

I had two Midlines two PICCs, not a port, so I can't speak to those questions, but you may find some info here:

Good luck

PS - my IV treatments DID help me immensely & I survived them intact. [Wink]

My husband has had a midline Groshong (not a port) for over a year now without any problems and has made very good progress.
