I have been PCRing the heck out the the microbes that have been isolated from my samples. These microbes are responsible for many symptoms being posted all over the internet. One such symptom of note is "eye floaters".
The PCR cannot find mitochondria, so I investigated all protozoa that have absents of this organelle. The only one that comes up as being morphologically similar, is microsporidium. This species, whatever it is, infects healthy people. The lab is running small subunit rRNA with primers for several species of this bug, so we hope to have something by next week. My intuition says this is it!

I am working with some very serious researchers now, and feel the solution to these problems are near. I do need some help, however. There are some fantastic ideas coming about. The big problem with these types of diseases are that same. There is a pattern, and breaking certain cycles, like cyst formation is one key. Understanding how "quorum sensing" works, will put us on the right tract. These things are like treating for cancer tumors. There are some very good immunological tricks in the hat for doing this, without nasty chemical treatments.
