My pain levels are getting so bad, i can't hardly stand it.

Rifampin made them worse, causing them to spread to my lower abdomen through muscle spasms that irritated the nerves.

llmd took me off all abx for 3 WEEKS to reduce toxicity. Then i start biaxin.

He gave me 4 week titration pack of savella, and said it should help in a couple of weeks.

I hope so because the abdominal pains are so strong and with the other peripheral neuro pain, chest pain, headaches, etc. i am starting to have suicidal thoughts!

Responses to previous neuro pain topic helped! Thanks! Blair

Blair,

Have you taken any Savella yet?

I assume you are over 24 years old and that all will goes well. I do hope you see a reduction in pain levels soon.

What liver support are you using? Sometimes that can be switched around and you'll see improvement. Milk Thistle is not the only helper. NAC and ALA are also good.

Adrenal support can also be extremely helpful to curb suicidal thoughts as, often, those come when the adrenal system reaches exhaustion.

Good luck.

======================

Savella has extra cautions for young adults as it can increase suicidal thoughts. Since you said you are already experiencing that, be aware so that you can take precautions to stay safe:

Savella

. . .

Before taking Savella

. . . .

You may have thoughts about suicide while taking Savella, especially if you are younger than 24 years old.

Tell your doctor if you have new or worsening depression or suicidal thoughts during the first several weeks of treatment, or whenever your dose is changed.

Hey Blair, i'm sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. I'm glad that you were able to work with your doctor to adjust your treatment plan.

Hopefully the time off and switching meds will be just what your body needs.

Hope you feel better soon!

Hi all, I am on the 4th day of savella and moved up from a 1/4 to a 1/2 dose.

I'm doing a little better today. The pain fluctuates a lot. It's when they are at their worse that I get suicidal thoughts.

I'm 47 and the hope that savella will bring some relief has helped.

I'm on milk thistle but not adrenal support, I will look into it.

Thankyou for the support and info!

Cordyceps is the most used adrenal support for lyme patients.

Also good are Ashwagandha and Siberian Ginseng (not regular Ginseng).

For me, when the adrenal energy tanks out, so does my mood.

More in this book about all that:

This book, by an ILADS member LLMD, holds great information about treatments options and support measures:
