I have been on an array of antibiotics and also did Bicillin shots 2-3x a week for a few months. Right now I'm on the full Cowden. Been in treatment since Aug '08.
No herxing really at all. So that would mean I have a problem detoxing? (At least from what I have read). Also have not gotten any better.
My LLMD says I need IV Rocephin, but if you're not detoxing why would that be any different?
Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It may be Lyme is not your problem at all too? Any test results to back-up your LLMD's claim? I think it's hard for a LLMD to admit defeat too. Lots of variables to consider.
If you can afford it and have good reason to believe it's Lyme, I'd go the IV route to rule it out.

Seekhelp...I am CDC pos for Lyme, but also tested pos for babesia (which I was on Mepron along time, then malarone).
I also have EBV, myco, well 5 or 6 viruses. I also tested positive for Q fever.
I brought this up to my LLMD and that is why he put me on the cowden. He said it covered more than just Lyme.

Wow, then there's little doubt. I didn't know. I'd go IV for sure and wish for the best. Remember though others here say it takes YEARS to get better if ill for a long time...you're only 9 months in. Just food for thought. You using anti-virals? Should be probably or at least garlic, OLE, etc.
I had no idea Cowden is that effective. People here say it's OK, but no match for Abx. Maybe I should've tried the free 6 month protocol offered by holistic PCP given that new info instead of my Tx plan? Hmmmm. Would've saved me a fortune in gas, LLMD expenses, travel, lodging, etc.
Too bad we can't order our own Rxs and lab tests. lol. Most here collectively know more than our LLMDs due to a wide knowledge base and could leverage each other. Kind of ironic in a way as any one of the experienced members can tell me all options for treatment. THe head of our Lyme Association in my state told me doctors admit they know less about Abx than this person!!
The theory is good until you get very sick and need help. Even then, advice is usually to stop meds, lower dosages, go to ER or go to family doc for evaluation.

The Cowden is suppossed to cover Lyme, viruses and parasites, but IMO I really don't think it's strong enough if you are really infected for a long period of time.
I'm just putting off the rocephin, still have to work and I don't think my ins. will go for it. (I have BC/BS).
I have spoken to him about putting me on Valtrex. I took it for 3 mos a couple yrs ago. Had improvement the 2nd month with fatigue, but the 3rd month I was back to the fatigue.

In deed it you were not detoxing you were feel really toxic, like hell. If your phase 2 of liver detoxification is working well and clearing the
toxins out of your system, then there is a good argument to be made that your lack of any long lasting herx is the reason why. If you both phase 1 and 2 of liver detoxification is working at its best
that is the best position to be in. I never really had horrific herxes but knew many who did. Not everyone does but that does not mean you are not killing ketes or detoxing. Additionally, good liver support via supplements help a great deal.

I seem to have all that you have- except that Q Fever thing you've got happening!
I take Valtrex twice a day everyday. I know it is for the HSV, but my LLMD says there is some evidence it may work on EBV. She said that it could be something I am on for a very long time, or for life??

It might seem unusual to ask if there might be symptoms 30 years later. I was bit on the chest and had the typical swelling and red concentric looking abrasion. I was 14 years old. Although It was never officially diagnosed as a tick bite. I later came down with "bells Palsy" and had extreme fatigue in my joints and especially my knees. The bells cured itself up to 90% and the aches subsided after years of aches. I'm curious if it can lay dormant in ones immune system? Or if other symptoms went unnoticed? Mostly curious. Thank you.
