I treated with single abx up until last summer. I have found that since doing multiple regimines I just don't get sick anymore. I think for the first time in years I have gone a year without so much as cough.
I even spent 3 days in bed with my girl friend who was dying with the flu and I did not get it. I couldnt catch a cold if tried.
Anyone else have this despite being very symptomatic?? I never had my CD 57 done.

This is pretty common among lymies. It has to do with the immune system T1 and T2 response.

Me too.. don't get common colds, flus, etc. Maybe it's god's way of saying we deal with enough.

I always say it feels like my immune system is switched off or something. That obviously can not be the case.
Bartonella has been shown to switch off certain immune modulators which allow it to float safely in the blood in large numbers. I do not know how something like that would translate and effect over all immune function.
abxnomore - can you explain a little more on the TH1 TH2??

Yes, same here. Since getting sick 3 years ago, I never get the flus/colds my 3 kids and husband get, never. Just feel like Lyme hell all the time. TS

Was cold/flu free for over 2 years after my heavy Lyme abx finished up. Still some morning neuropathy, but otherwise did fine. Just caught my 1st "cold" last winter. Lasted just 3 days when others at work were down for a week. Don't know if that's a good sign or What.
I bet your CD-57 count is right up there.(>150)

Hi Kete-tracker, I would like to think my CD 57 is right up there It also makes me feel more and more that BLO is my major concern.

I got one cold shortly after I started treatment in Dec., and another one in March.
Maybe this "kicks in" after one is in treatment for longer?

me too. It's so werid to be so sick from LD but not come down with the usual colds or flu.
Just my personal opinion but i think part of my immune system is malfunctioning while the other part is doing overtime spinning out reg cold or flu . One of the few perks of having LD
none of the above is medical advise....just my 2 cents

I had reasonably good immune function prior to starting treatment. Did OK until I started IM ceftriaxone. Now I seem to get sick a lot.
I've heard others say that their CD57 lab values went down during treatment. Seems to indicate that at least some of us have lowered immune function during treatment.

I'm immunocompromised as I have had a chronically low white blood cell count and low absolute neutrophil count going on 7-8 years now. Despite this, I haven't gotten a cold/flu for a long time as well [*knock on wood*], which is weird because most immunocompromised people get sick very often. But that's okay, I'd rather not get sick often because I have enough to deal with. That, and having such a low white blood cell count/absolute neutrophil count and then getting a virus of some sort could be very dangerous for me.
