I'm wondering if some of my sx might be babesia related and if at my next appt my LLMD decides to start tx I would like to know which is the best one.

So many people on this board have had difficulty with the Mepron/Zith combo - are there any positive experiences out there? Or do I ask for the Malarone right off the bat? Thanks!

I was helped tremendously. Also was rifing with powerful machine at the same time. Those three got me back to work. Also, had no issues whatsoever with being able to stomach the meds.

good luck

I love Mepron and can happily say it has given me improvement more than not. I am not on Zith with it though because my stomach cannot tolerate Zith at all, so we cannot go that route.

But I have noticed much improvement while on it.

Thx everyone, you mean Mepron can be used on it's own? Disturbedme, glad you experienced some improvement on it.

Rifing interests me too but i think I'm too sick for it right now. Keebler, will definitely check out the link.

btmb03 - I am not using Mepron on its own exactly. I'm also on Art and Clindamycin and Mino as well.

Well, you should take note of my response. It got me back close to normal functioning, not just a little better.

As far as rife goes, it can do wonders for your energy level and outlook on life - not just kill lyme bugs (rife is absolutely not a cure-all for this disease). I don't think you should convince yourself you're "too sick for it". If you're not too sick to take meds then you are certainly not too sick to rife.

best wishes,
chris

I'm on very small doses of meds and trying to dose up, that's how sensitive my system is.

I know even a massage can make me worse for days...perhaps my germ load is too high and my body can only detox a little at a time?

Hahaha. Sometimes I think barely... It's been hard, for sure; Art has been especially tough. But Mepron has been good overall.

I did Mepron/Zith for about 6-8 months. I took the Zith daily, then every other day, when my tinnitus started getting worse.

I tried adding in Artemisinin at about month 6, but got too heavy a herx or reaction from it. Previously, I did do well on Artemisinin alone, and had some lessening of symptoms at that time.

At any rate, I definitely got good gains in the area of less brain fog, better thinking ability, more stamina, and more ability to keep going at something. Also better days, overall.

I've been off them, and doing the AI drops, for a few months now.

The gains from Mepron/Zith have not gone away or lessened since I stopped them.

By the way, my LLMD starts people out with a proprietary herbal formula called "A-BAB." He says that otherwise some people have terrible trouble with Mepron/zith and some have ended up being taken to a psych ward for 72 hours, the reaction was so strong! By using the herbs first, the troubles with Mepron/zith went down to what was tolerable and handleable.

Hope this helps! You can PM me if you need more data.

Best,

Cass A

By the way, my LLMD now has pretty much everyone on the 5 Methylation factors (discussed in other posts) due to their detoxing help.

He says that they cut down treatment time by about 40%.

Best,

Cass A

Wow Cass, that is good to know. My LLMD said he was finding that a lot of lyme patients have this issue. It has certainly helped me.

btm - I was on zith and mepron for approx 6 months. I had a lot of improvement but didn't get rid of babesia. My body temperature control is almost normal now. I went from not being able to tolerate normal room temps (visitors had to wear a coat in our house) to being almost normal. I can go out in the summer without suffering for days. Still have to watch it but it is so much better. I also sweat now. Didn't sweat for years. I'm now on 4 malarone per day and hope to beat it this time.

Cass and Terry, thx for your responses. Cass, glad you made some strides with your LLMD's protocol, he/she really sounds like they know what they're doing.

Terry, good for you, wish you luck on the malarone, do keep us posted. You are all so helpful. [Smile]

I was on Mepron for 4 months and did very well on it. The herxes were bad but overall Mepron helped me a lot. I was not on Zith with it. Zith caused terrible heart issues for me. I recently muscle tested badly for Zith so I do not know if the pain around my heart and tachycardia was a herx or a bad reaction to the drug.

I had way more energy on Mepron and my Babesia rash went away. I was very happy on Mepron and my anxiety left as well. I did get very shaky on it and my night sweats increased. Those were the only 2 negatives while on it.

I am starting it again in 3 weeks and I cannot wait to get back on it. I think I can kick the Babesia this time. I was so close last time but I just got too sick to continue.

Good luck with your treatment!

zith/mepron knocked me into skyrocketing herxes. so bad, i had to cut back to malarone, but on the plus side, after the herx, i'd have my best days ever!
