This happened to me one night, waking up with a completely limp and unusual hand that just hung down at the wrist. It took about a day to go away. One of my LLMDs thought it was part of all the nerve problems I have with these diseases.

I hope it goes away quickly for you.

My hands fall asleep alot during the night and has the feeling of hanging there. But it does come back for me fairly quickly.

I have had this with my legs too. Now that is an odd feeling. Again they would come too after 10-15 minutes. Maybe mine were sleeping?? Don't know but didn't like the feeling.

I never get the tingling feeling when they come too either so I don't really believe they fell asleep.

It's a neurologic symptom of Lyme disease. I had it too. My whole left arm went limp. Like someone else said, it went away after about a day.

I think it's a sign that your Lyme disease is progressing.

You need to be under treatment. If you can't afford meds, then look into herbs, salt/c, mms, rife, or light therapy. You can't do nothing.

I do better sleeping in my carpel tunnel braces. It makes a big difference.

Don't use your hands- except very gently - until they feel better or you could be damaging them.

It might have been an isolated incident or it could be lyme related as carpel tunnel in my hands at age 23 was an early sign for me.

Still, right now, even when you nap, be sure to protect your wrists with carpel tunnel braces as you work so sort this out. Even the slightest wrong position can affect this, you don't necessarily have to fall asleep on your hand.

Magnesium and Fish oil may be great helpers to decrease inflammation that is likely involved.

I wonder if it is something like Bell's Palsy?

I had some similar problems before I started treatments -- my hands would just "stop working" and I couldn't open a bottle, or would drop what I was holding. It would usually go away after a few minutes. It hasn't happened since I started antibiotics, so I think it was a sign of neuro lyme.

Agree with posters above -- DON'T PANIC, but do get it checked out. Have you been diagnosed with lyme?

I agree. I could not even open my thermos or a

bottle. It was disturbing as one time I could and

another I couldn't. It was nerve conduction as it

is a lot better on treatment.

Just to clarify, my episode happened about three years into treatment, so this can still happen on treatment if you have severe neuro symptoms like I do.

This kinda happened to me a few years ago. I woke up from an hour nap, about to go to a wedding and my thumb was stuck in my pinky.

After rubbing my hand it came back after a day or so.

Before treatment, I would also wake up and feel like I had been making a fist all night.

If it doesn't get better soon or new symptoms come up, go get it checked!
