I can't say if this will work always or for everyone, but it was suggested to me and I'm passing it along as it did work for me today.

I notice when I get a Lyme Headache, my head feels very warm, almost hot to the touch. I feel like I should have a fever, but I never do.

I shared this information with a friend and the suggestion was made to try and take Lysine as the headaches may be due to vasodilation and Lysine has been shown as effective as Imitrex in studies to control headaches. Sure enough I did google this and it is true.

So, I took a 1gm Tablet of Lysine and within an hour my Headache was completely gone and so was the warmth I felt on my head.

I will try this as the days go on and when the Headaches come back in this fashion, I will do the same.

Just thought I'd share this with you guys.

Thanks! I have a headache right now. Let's see if I have any lysine in the cupboards.

That is a great tip. Thanks! Should you take it everyday to prevent headaches? I know it is also good to prevent cold sores.

Nice advise.

THANKS!

And do lettuce no how the headache experiment works out!

If it works, I may get some Lysine for a friend who is a real headache.

Oops! I mean who HAS a headache.

I'm sure he could use some, even if I have to slip it in his drink.

[lol]

Hi Lymetwister,

Spot on to the afternoon/evening headaches I get - similar to the type of headache you get with something like the flu

Feels like I should have a fever, but temps always within normal range (although it has risen from my morning low of 97.0 to 98.5) - head feels hot, body feels hot, just like a fever.

Thanks for this post...I look forward to trying lysine to see if it helps and will report back.

Best

It's an amino acid. You can get it at any health food store or on line. Take it on an empty stomach.

My local walgreens has it with all the other vitamins/supplements. Seems like it is common enough that you can get it locally.

It's very common. Many use it for herpes viruses.

COQ-10, 400mg daily is very effective for migraine headaches. You can Google it for more info.
