Bart & Lyme.

I am been on 1/2 that dosage for about a month. For a week I stopped to figure out how to get myself sleeping again because it gave me insomnia, but now i am back on it and sleeping.

I started feeling a bit better very quickly. A lot less brain fog and pain for me. I'm going to move up to 500mg soon too.

I take it once a day. It used to make me sleepy so I took it at night. Now, it keeps me awake.

It also had a tendency to make my stomach a little uncomfortable.

I take it because my lungs are affected. It has really helped there.

My sons take 1000mg a day. Bad insomnia for my 10 yr old! Melatonin supplement works for that [Smile]

I am not sure what all it covers besides Lyme? Maybe do a search for Biaxin on this forum search section?

I just started taking this along with my doxy. So now am taking 600mg doxy and this.

LLMD wants me to take 1500mg of Biaxin but so far only have taken 1000mg. Just started on Monday.

Been in treatment for about 7 months. On took doxy until now.

Best of luck!
Amy

Biaxin together with plaquenil has given me more improvement than any other antibiotic combination. Try to get your doctor to add the plaquenil to it - twice a day. It does give it a boost.

I'm positive for Lyme, babesia, haemobartonella/mycoplasma.

Our daughter just started on biaxin plus plaquinil.

The 2 together are supposed to work well on her very bad joint pains, and also reduce inflammation.

Somebody, is it Burrascano? says biaxin alone is not so effective for Lyme, needs plaquinil or another anti-malarial to do its job.

Sick, I will pm you with the doses she is using.

I've been taking between 500 - 750 mg Biaxin daily with 100-200 mg Plaquenil. It's helped a bit for the 10-day protocol, but who knows as always. I can't tolerate high doses of Plaquenil and I wonder if it's doing anything at lower doses.

I have yet to take a full-dose of anything my LLMD Rxed. [Frown]

He says many have been cured/remission by taking 1/4 doses of Abx over time. Gosh, I hope he's right.

I've been on Biaxin 500 mg 2 x a day and 200 mg plaquenil 2 x a day and am feeling GREAT!

I noticed the buzzing in my feet has gone away and I'm feeling more and more normal. The concentration is almost normal too!

I do have some muscle twitches and floaters in my eye still.

I think this works WAY better for me than doxy.

My LLMD swears by it. He says the plaquenil is very important in that it breaks up the biofilm, allowing the biaxin to penetrate the Lyme much better.

I'm a believer!

Biaxin clears my brain fog in about 24 hours.

Except it back now again that I only took more morning dosage yesterday. I was getting some diahrrea a few hours after my dosage and trying to figure out if its really biaxin caused or just from the VSL #3 I started taking.

I can deal with the diahrrea I think. I just want to know what is causing it so I can act appropriatley. I might ask for biaxin xl if I can determine it is the normal one causing it.

I'm on Biaxin 1,000mg and Rifampin 600mg per day to go after the Bart. About 30 days into a four month regimine.

My sleep is a little better. I fall asleep out of exaustion, so the bedtime insomnia has not been a problem. I don't stay asleep for very long, though.

My pain levels are way up, however. My hands and knees are swelling, stiff, and sore from ANY activity.

The Rifampin has rendered my antidepressant non-effective and upping the dose (anti-D) is making me more agitated and anxious.

I just gotta get through this 4 months.

It really helps me a lot to hear that others are experiencing my same issues. I'm not so alone.

Thank You all.
