Just wondering about this...my vocal cords are constantly hoarse, they crack...does anyone else have this symptom? Wondering if this is a lyme or co symptom, or possible thyriod issue?

Yes. For me, this was energetically tested as a combo of things: cryptostrongylus pulmoni (zoonotic parasite--treated with wormwood)and mercury.
Very difficult area to treat though. I've been chelating for a year and still haven't been able to touch it. I'm now doing MFT treatments so that whatever is holding onto the mercury will let go

My husband has had this problem. The doctors would just look at him when he mentioned it but had no comment. It has improved with treatment.

It's a common side effect of vagus nerve issues, which some Lyme/coinfection people seem to have. It can get better after treatment.
I was a singer and lost my voice and thought it was due to actual vocal cord damage. turns out it was just Lyme.

at least I think it's vagus nerve- do some searches for that. You'll find info on the various related cranial nerves, and one of them affects vocal cords and can be damaged by many different conditions. I think it's the vagus.
Luckily it can improve with treatment of the underlying condition. Mine completely improved.

Thxs for all replies. Maria I'll look up the vagus nerve condition...and consider it as a possible metals side effect.
I always thought it was thyroid for some reason!

I get it sometimes too. Also my throat sometimes just gets tired from talking. Whispering is easier.

I've had this for a long time and it's so frustrating because I have a soft voice anyway and have to yell to be heard if there's any noise around me. It makes me very tired.
I've considered symptomless acid reflux, chronic sinus infection (but have no stuffiness or pain) or allergies.
I'm wondering if it's the vague nerve affected by lyme.
It does get worse in the summer, but have it all the time.
I take synthroid and recently read that it contains acacia as a filler which some people can be allergic to. But an endocrinologist on that site said the amount is so minute, it would have no effect.

I am constantly clearing my throat. It's like it is dry all the time. And I have an annoying constant cough. Especially if I'm in a quiet room. It strikes the worst, it's so embarrassing.

A Lyme patient at my LLMD's office whispered to me that she lost her voice due to spasms and was given botox shots in throat to remedy.
Will advise when see her again if fixed. Now I see not so uncommon.
Also, I think dry cough is associated with Bart. I had for 2 years. Gone now thank God.

I was going to say thyroid!!! My hoarse voice cleared up with thyroid treatment. I always sounded like I'd just gotten up. I never even thought about it until I read your post; it's gone now!
