As far as I know, that doesn't sound like Lyme.

Babesia is notorious for causing cough (non-productive) along with chest heaviness and pain.

Have you had the cough for long? Do you have a history of seasonal allergies (since it is worse in the AM)? It could also be a virus or pneumonia if is just started recently?

Is your doctor aware of this symptom?

Sorry for so many questions. Just trying to help.

Maybe you could find some relief from sleeping propped up on a couple extra pillows at night. Drink lots of extra water to help thin out the excretions/mucus. And run a cool mist vaporizer by you bed at night, that will help moisten the airways to relieve some pain and loosen up the junk in your chest.

Take care, hope you find some answers:)

Randibear~ I've had that for about a month now.

2 weeks ago I went to my G.P. and he said it was bronchitis. Am already on Doxy, so he put me on Keflex.

Am finally starting to feel a little better. I know how miserable you feel.

My chest actually hurts from coughing so much.
Oh, he also gave me 2 different kinds of inhalers to open up bronchial whatchamacallits.

Not too good with medical terms. I've had so much tea this past month I should own shares in Celestial Seasonings.

If it helps any, my daughter, who lives in Indiana has the same thing and my sister-in-law in Ohio has it too.

Stock up on honey and lemon. Yogurt and bananas seemed to help.

Poor baby...will pray for you tonight. [kiss]
