Does anyone know if there is a correlation between chronic lyme and very high dhea blood levels with all other hormone levels being normal? Does anyone have knowledge or experience with this?

I have this. No one has ever had much to say about it. Lyme docs, endocrinologist, etc.
I'm not sure if you're male or female--I think with women, there's some things possibly relevant. I'm male. My DHEA has been very high, every time it's been tested.
My understanding is that in most Lyme patients, low DHEA is common.

DHEA becomes elevated in response to stress, such as Lyme disease. Just like the adrenals, if not adequately addressed the levels will ultimately drop down.
DHEA and cortisol levels both need to monitored and are closely tied together.

My DHEA always test very low. Supplementation elevates it some but not a lot. Dr just increased my dose from 5mg to 10mg daily.

Interesting. I know there are some hormone producing tumors, but I'm not sure this happens with DHEA. I'm assuming that none of the supplements you're taking have DHEA?
How is your DHEA-S level in comparison?
I've had a very high DHEA level before. It sort of makes me want to get an adrenal scan to make sure nothing weird structurally is going on...

I am a 30 year old female. I am not taking anything with DHEA in it. ALL other hormones have been tested and are normal(including DHEA-S). I had a CT scan and an ultrasound-no tumors on my adrenals. My gynecologist doesn't seem concerned. My GP is stumped as she's checked all other hormones and nothing is "off".

I am sorry I don't know about elevated DHEA levels. My DHEA is suppressed and my LLMD and psychiatrist both recommended supplements.

Lymer, I saw one reference to high DHEA and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) on the net but I do not have any specific studies...
