Hi I posted this under the law suit article too, sorry for the duplication but wanted everyone to know this lab is still out there.

I contacted this lab the other day and got the follow reply from him - his contact info is at the bottom.

Again don't know if they took over for Bowen, but this lab is in Winter Haven, not far from Orlando, not Palm Harbor.

You have to have an order (prescription) from your doctor to have the blood drawn at the lab. They won't work without his order. You also have to have the doc's office complete and sign the requisition form.
The requistion form has to be sent along with the blood.
Please remember NOT to draw the blood or ship it on a Friday. We are not here weekends and it will be too old when we get it on Monday.

This is a good test.

It's like the computerized version of Bowen dark field mycoscropy. They are not looking for antibodies, but the actual spirochete in the blood.

I understand they are licensed in the state of Florida, and many insurances will cover this test.

They didn't "take over for Bowen" but many of the same people continued at CFR when Bowen closed.

I believe this is the culmination of Lida Mattman's work that got her nominated for the nobel prize.

It has it's limitations, though. If there are no spirochetes in that particular blood sample, then the test won't find them.

If you've done antibiotics that were effective, or a zapper treatment, or some other such thing that cleans out the blood, this test won't tell you what is hiding in your tissues.

I don't think they test for co-infections, but I'm not positive. I don't know how accurate they are with different strains of Lyme Borrelia, if any strain will result in a positive, or just Bb. That would be good to know.

Dear All,

After having the Bowen test done twice before they closed, I had this test done also. I asked at the time if it was the same as the Bowen test, and was told NO.

Don't recall the exact way that it was different, but actually looking at the blood was mentioned.

I tested "borderline positive" with the Central Florid Lab, after two years of treatment with herbs, various oral antibiotics.

That was in 2007....

Best,

Cass A
