I got racing heart palpitations from just a fraction of a capsule. I haven't tried it since even though I know it's supposed to be important.

I started japanese knotweed (posted about my herx a few days ago - look for post.

I had a good herx farily quickly. Gave me bad anxiety, made me tired, joint aches, etc.

I couln't sleep all night I was that wound up, but feeling good now.

I probably started too quickly so I suggest you ramp up slowly with a lower dose than suggested on the bottle.

Do any of you know if you are suppose to take
Resveratol on an empty stomach or not?

I read in one of the Lyme books
that it can cause stomach upset so
ramp up slowly.

Porbable with food is my guess. The book Healing Lyme really stressed the GI symptoms.

I take all my Buhner herbs with a meal; I do not take anything on an empty stomach as I have such a sensitive stomach.

LLMD said most meds can be taken with food, even tho' they say "take on an empty stomach".

Are you getting a pure & reliable brand of Japanese knotweed? Many on Buhner have reacted to fillers & binders.

Source naturals. I thought that was an okay brand. I failed to take it with a meal. I'll try that today.

I'm still herxing, have aching joints, anxiety, etc. This is now about 10 days after. I feel its doing something, maybe letting my other meds in due to reduction in joint inflamation.

I take source naturals too.

Well, how can this herb be used against inflammation if it causes herxing? That is contradictory. Beginning to doubt that herbalists have the answers. And trying this stuff might be dangerous if inflammation causes permanent damage, as it does in my case.

Resveratrol is a very strong antioxidant -- it can cause a healing reaction just like CoQ10.

Hubby was dizzy and had a headache I think after his first capsule a couple of years ago. Now he takes 6 capsules a day with no problems. Was at 12 capsules for a few months a year or two ago.

He got over his reaction within a couple of days I think, but I remember waiting about a week before trying the herb again. He adjusted to higher doses fairly quickly.

Source Naturals has many different formulations of Resveratrol/Japanese knotweed. Might want to doublecheck your bottle and compare doseages to the Buhner book.

Resveratrol really does seem to block conversion of serotonin precursors to quinolinic acid at higher doses and lets hubby take B6, l-tryptophan and 5-HTP for sleep as needed without problems.
