I am getting serious gas & bloating these days. It's so frustrating! Sitting in my sauna and doing coffee enemas seems to be the only thing that helps.
I am following the Body Ecology Diet and eating cultured veggies and lots of veggie soup. I'm also taking lots of enzymes like Pancreatin, Amalayse, Papain, etc. I'm taking Cat's Claw, too.
What's the deal? Could all this bloating, gas, and sore liver just be a herx? Is that possible?
Thanks, Charis

Doesn't sound like a herx to me but anything is possible. Is your soup heavy on cruciferous vegetables? It sounds like either you are eating to many veggies that are gaseous or perhaps you have a candida problem.
Also are you taking the enzymes with or without food? If you are using them to digest may be you are taking too much for a veggie intake.
Could also be you are eating too many cultured veggies.

Why do probiotics give gas? Is it because it's killing the bad bacteria in our bodies and digestive tract?

Yes, I get lots of bloating and gas when I am herxing. I remember GiGi posting about this also as a herx,

Yes, it's possible to be a herx, particularly if you have a bad gut to start with.
The BED is pretty good, but maybe you are going too fast? Maybe it would be an idea to drop a few of those items listed until you're stable, then start over one at a time and see what's what.
Juat an idea.

What is a good balance? I never know how much I should suffer from herxing - should I tough it out in order to kill the bad bacteria? Or should I take it easier and possibly not be killing enough?
Can I take Gas-X to help with symptom reduction? It really helps.
