I was putting lotion on this morning, and I noticed a lump on my shin. It's right close to the bone, not down in the fleshy part of my calf.

It doesn't hurt, and you can't see it; I have to run my finger over it.

The rest of my leg isn't swollen, red or hot, just this little lump.

I had one of these when I was pregnant, in the same place, but that one was big enough to see.

The doctor then wasn't really concerned about it, although she wasn't sure what it was.

I'm inclined not to worry about it now, but it still bothers me just the same.

What could this thing be? Is it a blood clot (although I doubt that would be big enough to see or feel), or a muscle knot, or just some fatty stuff? Could it be Lyme related?

I have one too and I have had it for months. I had my LLMD feel it. He blamed it on bart. It is just there. Never seems to do anything. You might what to ask you LLMD about it to be sure.

Thanks Kathy.

Of course, I just saw my LLMD last week, and this couldn't have come up then.

I just noticed another one higher up--scared me at first, as I thought the other one was traveling.

I just get scared because I do get the air hunger/shortness of breath, and I have had 2 friends drop dead suddenly from blood clots.

I've had them look for that at the ER when I was there, and they never found anything.

Well, make that a correction.

Now I do have pain in that shin, feels like a muscle spasm.

When will I ever stop getting new symptoms?

Lyme can cause cysts, especially in the long muscles. I have one cyst in the middle of forearm in the same place on both arms.

I have some lumps on my leg that are from bart per my LLMD. Mine look like cellulite but are in a strange place for cellulite.

Someone mentioned the possibility of a cyst--do those cause pain?

Or are they just kind of there?
