Hi, I have some neuro symptoms, but I'm just realizing it might be affecting my speech.
I never went to a lot of doctors, and I tend to overlook symptoms as big as a strange disconnect between my arm and brain.
(Hey, it didn't last so it wasn't a stroke!)
But, I've noticed a recurrence of some possible symptoms. The thing is, it doesn't always feel like anything is wrong when it happens a lot of the time.
That's my question. Does it feel like something isn't working in your brain when lyme affects your language; or can you have these symptoms and feel like nothing is wrong?
I find my self saying the wrong word all the time. It has been great entertainment the last few days.
I also have had times where I am speaking, but nothing is coming out in complete sentences. People seem to understand me.
There's been times in the past that I felt trapped inside and couldn't get the right words out. It made me feel stupid, and I thought it might have been from partying as a teen. But these episodes come and go, so I don't know about that anymore.
I've also stuttered. That always feels like something is wrong.
So that's what I'm wondering today.

I am not sure if I have any good answer for it, but I do know that my wife often lost words. And sometimes she stayed silent but thought she had already responded my question.
I further noticed that language will affect a person more than we typically realized. Isn't it true that our thoughts are formed with language? Without clear words, we won't have clear thoughts because we think with language.
That might explain why some of us appear "stupid" because we have trouble thinking with words.

Yep, me too. Wrong words, slurred speech, and even jumbled sentences. Totally bizarre! I frequently have to stop and think hard about what I am about to say. This is a symptom I had for several years before I knew something was wrong.
