I take Dynacin (a form of minocylcine) every other day, 100 mg. On the other days I take Zithromax 600 mg.

I take 200 mg Mino twice daily. Standard doses of anything don't cut it for me. I also tolerate all meds really well.

I have been thinking about my dosage and am wondering if I am taking enough to help me. Does 100 mg every other day seem a bit low to anyone?

My tolerance to it seems to be very good and I have been on this amount for a couple of months without any problems.

Any thoughts? Should I ask my LLMD to increase the amount?

While liver support (such as milk thistle, NAC, etc) are essential for any lyme protocol, it is extremely important when taking zith, mino or Biaxin in order to minimize the chances of tinnitus or other ear symptoms.

To the people on these two meds...are they helping? I have severe neuro problems and am about to add 100 mgs of minocycline to 600 mgs of azithromycin. So far the azithromycin has done nothing by itself.

Sorry to cut in here. Hope you don't mind. [Smile]

Hi brooke,

I think these two meds are helping me somewhat, but not enough. I need more of something whether it be additional abx or time.

The first thing that showed improvement was my brain. About 75% of the fog lifted within days. A lot of the muscle, bone and joint pain has faded too.

I still don't think I am anywhere near being done with abx, though.

Rifampin helped my neuro symptoms almost immediately. Really clear head now.

I don't know if Rifampin is on my doctor's list. I know she said Biaxin would be next if azithromycin didn't work.

Keebler -
What do you recommend for liver support for children if they are taking Mepron?
Thanks,

Some info on Milk Thistle interactions

Warning - milk thistle has the potential to lower concentrations of Mepron.

If you are taking Milk thistle with Mepron you may end up wasting your time unless LLMD is keeping tabs on your blood levels of Mepron.
