I'm posting this topic again, but trying to be a bit more specific so that I get as many responses as possible....

I had Cervical fusion surgery in July 07' for two herniated discs in my neck. At that time, I was not being treated for LD at all. I found out recently that the fusion has completely failed, and I am scheduled to have a revision surgery again in 3 weeks.

My question-I believe I have had LD for about 3 years now-I was on various ABX, including IV treatment for 3 months. During this time, I had no herxing, felt the exact same way, and decided to stop treatment myself about a month ago.

I am wondering if the LD affected my original surgery outcome, and ultimately caused the fusion to fail. I am afraid to have this revision surgery done, and have it possibly fail a second time while LD is still present in my body.

Should I wait and treat the LD aggressively first for a few months and then try the revision surgery again after I've been on ABX for a long period of time? I'm thinking this might be a better idea, as I want the best possible outcome after going through a second surgery.

This surgery is not an emergency-it can wait until next year while I treat the LD first. I need to make a quick decision, as I have the surgery scheduled for July 13th.

I definitley have LD-I was positive on a specific band, band 31, through Igenex, and had a positive Frye test for Bartonella.

Any opinions would be appreciated-

I would wait to do the aggressive antibiotics first, then get the surgery if you still need it, but it is ultimately your decision.

Watch the youtube videos from lymelies who has discussed the progress of his back problems (his main symptom) and has recovered:

Here is his latest video updating on the progress:

He would have required more spinal surgery's had it not been for the antibiotics.

Good luck.
