My son is starting rife treatments. Will be using a contact machine of a friends. I have read posts about non contact machines. Does anyone know how they differ?
Dr. said to start slow with only 1-2 freq. for 1-5 min. each. The owner of the machine (family now symptom free of Lyme) said to start slow but need to hit all 15 (!) freq. at a min. each. She kept saying to be aggressive with treatment. This concerns me.
Would like to hear from others on how you started. Perhaps the type of machine dictates the number of freq. as your posts do not mention that many(?)
Am planning of getting B Rosner's book as prescribed by our Dr. Useful info?
Thank you for your help and support. J

I would start with one or two frequencies for 30 seconds, no more than one minute, and see what the reaction is. You can increase from that point if the reaction is tolerable.
The first treatments are to assess what you can handle and there is no point in risking a bad herx.

I would avoid aggressive treatment and opt for precise and safe treatment. Please read Rosner's book first. Your doctor's and Dan's advice is best: start with just a couple frequencies for 30 - 60 seconds.
I had a ND use a contact RIFE with me years ago and we treated several freq. for several minutes. It set me back years, triggering some of the worst seizures I ever had. He had never used it for lyme and had absolutely no knowledge of lyme. We just blasted through his little work book but I took off like a rocket. Very ill for months after that.
I have since used a different rife but, most importantly, keep it short and sweet - and not too frequently . . . always ending in 10 K to help reduce inflammation also helps.
I think the type is not so much of concern but keeping within safely guidelines. Too much can damage the liver and kidneys as they can only work so fast to remove debris.
Magnesium supplementation, Fish oil and other Liver support methods are helpful and be sure to avoid tylenol or other over the counter pain relievers, too, as they can be very hard on the liver or kidneys. (See http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/1/82902? )
Good luck. I think rife can actually turn out to be fabulous. Hope your son has a positive experience with it.
