Clearly this whole Lyme thing is very confusing for a newbie like me! I've been on 200mg of Doxy for a week, and no herxing whatsover. I'm still waiting for my LLMD appointment, my Lyme-friendly (though not experienced with Lyme) doc is the one who started me on the abx. In theory this is a year old infection (or older), so not sure if that gives any clue...

Yes, it's normal. In fact, there is no "normal" situation but in general you can expect to herx somewhere between four and six weeks but everyone is different and some people don't even experience huge herxes.
One week probably is too soon to experience much and you are on a low dose of doxy but good enough to tide you over until you get to your LLMD appointment.
Be sure to stay out of the sun with doxy. You will get a horrible, painful sunburn.

Your story sounds like mine. I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago by an int med doc (lyme friendly but not an expert)
I don't have an LLMD yet but was put on 200 mg doxy for 6 weeks.
Felt Great and I do mean 'symptom free' for about 2 weeks and then on the 17th day it was like everything came back full force.
I'm extremely fatigued and most of my symptoms are all back with some vague vertigo and today I felt like I was walking thru jello for a few hours. The fatigue is horrible.
I guess it is a herx. I hope you don't have one.
It has depressed me incredibly.
I had forgotten what it felt like to feel good and I sure hope I get to experience that feeling again.

This is my 3rd week on Doxy and i've not had a herx either. First two weeks I was on 100mg and began to feel a little better. Now increased to 200mg and feeling a lot better this week. Almost symptom free & much more energy. I even went swimming today. Just hope it continues

Doxy was my first medication (I've been in treatment for five years). I just kept getting better - no herxing for all the months I was on it.
Even though I'm CDC-positive for Lyme, I rarely herx on Lyme meds. But I herx like mad on Bartonella and Babesia meds. So everyone is truly different.

Very interesting-my doctor seems to think it is a sign that maybe my headaches aren't lyme, despite my IgeneX results (we had testing done by Imugen and they weren't positive for Lyme, but I know Imugen is rarely mentioned on here).
I have to say that I don't feel any relief from it yet (for the headaches) but i don't feel worse...

I was on a month of 200mg/daily Doxy and actually felt better. More energy, slept better at night, less muscle ache.
Then, we increased the dosage to 300mg/day. Felt fine for 2 weeks. . . .
Then boom! Tremendous fatigue in the morning, no energy even to talk. Can't get out of bed to save my soul.
Probably having a ton of die-off. My doc says to take AI#3 capsules (Zhang), and also take epsom salt baths to help with detox.
(My daughter also makes me a cup of coffee that could wake the dead. This is needed to get me into the bathtub.)
So, to address the original post, 200 mg was not enough for me to herx.
100 additional mg put me over the top.
