my gp gave me diflucan yesterday, 150 mg, only three pills, said to take one per day.

i'm so sensitive lately to everything i cut it in half, so took 75.

about 8 o'clock, i started having really bad vaginal burning, i mean like being on fire. then my entire body felt like i was having a third degree burn. i couldn't sleep i was in so much pain. my lower pelvic area felt like you were pouring hot water inside me.

i go up and washed off a little but it didn't help.

finally this morning the overall body burning is almost gone, the vaginal burning is down but not gone.

still have that horrible fuzzy white tongue tho.

could this be a systemic yeast problem? my gp said he didn't believe in systemic yeast and that the only people who ever got it were aids victims or someone who was terminal. gee, thanks doc.

Gosh, randibear, that sounds awful!

Can you ask your LLMD for advice or more guidance? I think in general they are more tuned into our yeast issues than GP's.

Best of luck.

Randi, I too felt as if I was on fire last night. I would describe it as a hot pepper being rubbed on my skin. Mine started at night too. Hmmm.

I'm also going to add that I ate a bulb (not clove) of garlic as well as 2T of coconut oil. That should've killed something. Yesterday was the first day I did all three though.

Maybe I will do it agin I don't like the pain, BUT I really hate the bugs!!!!!

I think its possible I just searched (Difluan skin burning) and a thread came up of one person on Diflucan with the same problem.

I started mild burning about an hour ago. Thanks for your post I was so worried last. My lips looked like they had been sunburnt. Whats up with that? I bet it was a herx.

Another possibility is polyneuropathy, common in late-stage Lyme, and one characteristic of it is that the burning is worse at night. I have it so I know. All the smooth places on my body, like lips, burn the most when it happens.

i am sorry you have to go thru this!

i have had burning all over especially in every orifice, such as nostrils, lips, lower region, etc.

are you taking a powerful probiotic such as VSL#3??

if it was me i would RUN to my local health food store and get an arsenal of anti candida products / herbs until i could convince my doctor to do something.

here is a list of some good stuff, and Im sure there are more out there:

olive leaf extract
oregano extract
coconut oil
capryilic acid
pau' de arc
wormwood
black walnut
garlic
lemon
enzymes which help fight yeast

extra strength probiotics live VSL #3, its amazing.

and there are more:

how is your diet?? DETOX??

here is a link to a very good list of foods you can eat and which ones you should not eat while fighting yeast.

i know these suggestions are not not as good as a prescription, but it can get you headed in the right direction.

For what it's worth, the SAME thing happened to me when I first went on Diflucan when my yeast was really bad.

I burned everywhere. Everywhere. Even my eyeballs. Yes, the yeast was on my eyeballs.

I didn't know what was happening at the time and was really freaked out. Looking back, I'm pretty sure it was a yeast herx.

Had I figured that out at the time, I would have pulsed the Diflucan pills. I was on 150 mg every day for 10 days.

I'm still struggling with yeast and am pulsing Diflucan, but my herxes aren't nearly as bad!

Hang in there! If that's what it is, it will get better!

i'm pretty sure it's a yeast herx cause my fingers are all red.

i've only taken 75 one day and 150 the next and already my fingers are no longer red.

got to be more strict with that diet.

am also taking coconut oil...doesn't taste too bad but gives me diahhrea or maybe the diflucan does that.

i am absolutely terrified of yeast. mom had it before she died and she really suffered. hers was total body, so bad she couldn't eat. after seeing what she went through, mention yeast and i just go ballistic.
