One of the symptoms I've not been able to resolve (and really bad right now), is Akathisia which is an inner restlessness.
For me, it comes on like an attack, mainly at night and it's the most uncomfortable feeling I've ever experienced. It lasts for a good while then usually passes and then I can go to sleep. Sometimes it wakes me up though, which is a real pain!
Let me stress, mine is not drug related as I get it whether I'm on treatment or not.
In the past, I was treated for Lyme and I had it before during and after treatment. Right now, I'm being treated for Babs and the akathisia is the worst it's been....Maybe related to the Babs, I don't know. It's not a common symptom.
Anyone else experience this, and were you able to figure out what it was from?

I have had this same thing -- it feels like when I Used to have hot flashes at night from menopause, -- but it wasn't hot -- just this inner zap of some kind.
I have it now with Lyme and lyme treatment. I, too, get it at night and can't sleep. Like my nervous system is charged up inside my body.
I am taking B-6 and have taken Benedryl for sleep, but it loses it's effectiveness rather soon for me.
Long story short -- I'm not much help but I am interested in the answers!
I think my present treatment with Flagyl might be making it worse since side effects can be restlessness and insomnia.
Maybe just have to wait to the end of treatment.. which is hopefully soon for me.

Thanks for the replies. I've tried a few things to alleviate it including the beta blockers with limited success.
It seems like an attack that lasts for a time and then passes.
Most annoying thing....Drives me nuts

I have gotten this from certain antinausea meds, and at higher doses of Lyrica, its a terrible feeling, I empathize.
What helped me the most was attivan, which is particulraly good if the feeling passes (since attivan doesn't stay in you system as long as klonopin). I don't think you can take it every night though, You'd have to take klonopin for that.
I knew of someone who also had this problem, and they began taking the medicine for restless leg syndrome, and it helped them alot. I can't remember the name of the med, I know they also use it to treat parkinsons disease, although at much lower doses than for parkinsons.

I know this feeling too well, you know what has helped a ton? Sleep Blend Sp-17 from Solaray, in other words Valerian. Totally calms my system down clonazepam style naturally (w/out taking a prescription).

I would love to know more about how it feels to see if I have this. I get motor tics, and when I get them, I usually have a very odd sensation throughout my body.
It is almost like a tickling inside of me and it makes me want to move to stop the uncomfortable feeling, but the moving doesn't stop it.
Last time I had it, I emailed my doctor, and she responded that some of my symptoms sounded like Bartonella. Also, last time I had it, I actually had one incident where I was frozen for a few minutes. I don't want to say I was paralyzed, because physically I could have moved if I needed to. But I couldn't actually bring myself to move. It was really odd and frightening.
