Hi- I'm currently on Plaquenil and Biaxin. I have been on one pill each every day for about two months, then on the 14th of July my LLMD increased to two pills of each every other day.

I am also on Nystatin tablets 2 pills 4 times a day.

I don't know if this is related but I developed a rash about a week ago on my inner thighs and groin, which I thought was maybe from shaving but I know now that it wasn't.

I have the same rash under my arms and it is so itchy I want to cry. I tried Gold Bond Medicated itch cream and all that did was make it burn.

I started trying Vagisil thinking maybe it was yeast, and while it did stop the itch for a few hours, I know it was only because it has a numbing effect.

My question is, is this normal? Is it a herx? Is there anything I can do?

It does sound like yeast. I get the patches under my arm sometimes, especially in hot weather.

I find that athlete's foot powder treatments work pretty well [along with diet, probiotics etc],

I have lately been getting something similar behind my knees. I thought maybe it was from shaving too, but that didn't make sense when I really thought about it as I don't shave BEHIND my knees.

I posted a question about this and someone suggested yeast as a possible cause. When I went to my LLMD visit last week I showed him a picture (as the rash had faded that particular day) and he thought it was part of my other Bartonella skin issues.

So, I don't know, really. Maybe it is both? Sometimes it drives me crazy, like when the hem of my shorts rubs against it.

Re and Lee Lee..

I don't know what the rash is about...

But, if you've got about $8.00 I can tell you how/where to get a cream that is fantastic for all kinds of rashes.

I use it all the time.. and it can take away the chiggers itch and all sorts of other things.

Email me and ask if you are interested.

No, I don't have any stock or interest in the product... it's just really good.

Hi Rebecky , that sounds like the same exact rash I had about a year ago. Upper thighs , groin , and underarms .Bright red , itchy , and even burned at times .At the time I was on malarone , flagyl ,bactrim, and dyflucan .

It eventually went away in about a month or two , I did change brands of soap and deodorant , but i don't think they were the cause as I can use them now without the rash returning ?Very strange indeed !

That makes me feel better Buck. I just spoke with my LLMD and he's smart but SO arrogant. He said it could be a mix of lyme die off and yeast. I see him next week.

He also said I should stay away from dairy completely and no splenda or any type of sweetener ending in -ose. Is that really necesary?

I take Nystatin everyday and occasionally have splenda and stay away from real sugar completly. He's having me stop teh antibiotics completely which I feel will be a set back. [Frown]

If it is lyme die-off, stopping the antibiotics will give you relief.

In the meantime, drink lots of water and eat lots of lemons.

My lyme doc had me do this throughout treatment--4 lemons per day. I squeezed them into water and drank that all day long.

He says this is a natural cleanser of the body.

You should be OK being off antibiotics for just one week.

I've heard about the lemon water. I'm wondering if you did food allergy testing and if you had any sensitivities to lemons, grapefruit, etc.

This will probably sound nuts but try Desitin. It's great for all kinds of rashes.

Though, if you've got broken skin, I think it might burn because I believe it has menthol.

My husband has this too. Not sure what his meds are but we are pretty sure it is yeast. He used some sort of antifungal and it got better. Maybe

rubbing monostat on it could help?? I know they do that for babies with yeast infections. Hope you find relief.

You could use stevia or xylitol for sweeteners.

I forgot to say earlier that the athletes foot powder for yeast [tends to come where you sweat] was recommended to me by a pharmacist for yeast /prickly heat reactions.

I put it under my arms before bed when I have a flare.
