Hello,

I got a blister last Saturday, and it ended up getting red, swollen, painful and itchy. It is still swollen.

I went to a local doctor on Tuesday to get it checked out. The doc said it wasn't bad, but he gave me an antibiotic.

I tried Bactrim DS first. I got really dizzy and got a headache. I also had a fever. So I called and he switched it to Cipro.

Now I'm having dizziness, severe headaches and fatigue with Cipro. I think I'm herxing. I need the med for the foot infection, but I'm feeling so sick on any antibiotic I take.

I don't know what to do! I just had to stop Doxy for Lyme last week because of my herxes. Now I've taken three different antibiotics within a week's time.

Thank you,
electrolite

You can do warm soaks to the foot.

Fill a large (six quart) pot half full, with very warm water.
A large mass of water holds the heat longer than a small amount.

Set it up so that you're sitting on a chair, with your foot in the pot, on the floor.
Put a towel on the floor next to it...when you're done, you can step right onto the towel, to dry your foot.

Read the paper or watch tv while you're soaking.

You can do this for ten to twenty minutes, every two hours, or as often as you can manage.

It's some work on your part, but I've seen wonderful improvements with warm soaks.

Thanks for the replies, Betty and Carol. I will have to try doing a warm foot soak! Would Epsom salts in the soak help or not?

Carols right, but also
do add Epsom Salts or even regular table salt, which will aid the healing time.

Use water that is as hot as you can take without burning yourself, this also will kill the bacteria. When not soaking, keep the infectious area open to the air.

Soak many times a day.

I agree with the above. I would soak it in warm water and epsom salts for a long while. And maybe after that, I'd soak it (or swab it) in silver.

I'd soak in warm water with colloidal silver.

The warm soak will relax the blood vessels in the foot, increasing the blood circulation.

The blood carries the oxygen and nutrition that the cells need to repair themselves.

So...how does your foot look now.

I finally got to try soaking my foot. I soaked it in hot water with epsom salt for about 20 minutes.

My foot does look better than it did two days ago, but it is still swollen and puffy around the blister. I will try soaking it more.

Thanks for the suggestions! I hope soaking it helps.
