Sorry for the random title.

This post covers a variety of topics. A few of you have asked for a few updates re various topics, and it seemed easiest to put them in one post.

I had the Genova comprehensive digestive stool analysis test to figure out my yeast situation.

The test indicated that I did not have any yeast at all. I think that result is more a manifestation of the "point in time" limitation inherent in all testing, because about a week after the test I had another full blown yeast attack (unprovoked by food!). Too bad I didn't do the test when I was feeling badly.

Anyway, the test showed that I have insufficient good flora. Bifido was half what it should be, and there was no lacto at all. Apparently there is a good e. coli, and I had plenty of that.

You're supposed to be off all probiotics and antifungals for three days before the test.

At the time, my probiotic was VSL#3. I was concerned as to why my flora was so awful when I was taking this high end probiotic.

The test also showed low short chain fatty acids, which apparently is a function of the poor gut flora.

The test also showed poor absorption of long chain fatty acids.

I'd been having some green stool. I asked the dr about that, and he said that it could be fast bowel transit time, but that since I'm not having increased bowel movements, it is more likely an absorption issue: I might not be absorbing bile.

I'm supposed to take an enzyme combo called PanXyme to help w/ absorption and digesta guard, a probiotic by perque. Do that for a month, then back on abx.

There was a question re ambiguous Fry smears for bart. I had that result, which, apparently, alot of us do.

I also showed a high titer for babesia duncani: 1:512. IgeneX FISH showed nothing.

My lyme results are IGM: 31 ind, 39 +, 41 ind, IGG: 31 ind, 41 ++.

Fry Bart smear = inconclusive for myco and bart.

Just got results from NC State vet lab: no Bart DNA, but two positive titers of 256, a few positive titers, but much lower, like 32 and 64. (I don't remember the strains, except that one was Burkhoffi...was a phone appt and still need to see the report.)

I'm to repeat the babs duncani titer and the NC state study. Dr is concerned that the bart might be causing false positives for Lyme and babs duncani.

As to symptoms, and this is frustrating from a treatment standpoint, I don't know if I exhibit any symptoms that are hallmark for any of the tick borne infections.

I'm inflamed. Basically everywhere. Joints, tendons, teeth, jaw, sinuses, torso, presses on nerves, causes fatigue. (curcumin and diet help)

Hypercoagulation. Bolouke fixed well.

Dry eyes/eye pain. Eye dr wanted to cauterize my tear ducts. LLMD says use eye drops and wait for abx to work.

OK, so I think that's the deal. I wish I could give a better picture of my "bartonella" symptoms, or "babs" symptoms, or "lyme" symptoms.

None of my testing is really conclusive, and I don't have hallmark symptoms for any of these. Bart can cause eye issues, but can't Lyme, too?? And don't all of these cause inflammation and hypercoagulation?

I don't doubt that I have one, or more, of these infections, I just have no idea which.

Interesting!

I also have SEVERE malabsorption now, though I did not way back when I had the green stool, and so I did not mention it when I answered your other post about it. Maybe that was the beginning of my absorption problem.

I was also having much more BM's than normal, unlike you, about 7 per day average.

My GI doc now says my pancreas is 95% destroyed, and I cannot digest anything without over 600 prescription enzyme pills per month. This problem is called exocrine pancreatic insufficiency and will cut my life short by 20%.

I just read somewhere that the Autonomic nervous system dysregulation in Lyme causes a 20,000% reduction in digestion capabilities! I wish I could remember where I saw that....might even be another post on here somewhere.

My stomach biopsies showed a much higher level of probiotics than average. I use NSI 15-35 brand from Vitacost.

Have you had fat digestion tests to make sure your pancreas is functioning properly? I had 3 of those at different times, plus a CAT scan of my abdomen with contrast and an MRCP.

The CAT and MRCP did not show the calcification of the pancreas my doc expected to see with such bad fat digestion, so I am wondering if it is this ANS dysregulation causing it.

Malabsorption can be a serious problem. My mother died of it when she was only 60. Mine is not hereditary though, since that type would have shown up in childhood.

You will need extra amounts of B12, Calcium and fat soluble vitamins to make sure you absorb enough.

I don't know much about your other issues in this post, but I am sure others who do will come along.
