Hi folks, A woman in my support group who does not have access to a computer asked me to post this question.
At present she has Medicaid Fidelis plan. Someone advised her that it would be best for her to change back to regular Medicaid.
This didn't sound correct to me. I know that general MediCARE is better than HMO Medicare, but it has seemed to me that HMO MediCAID is better than the general.
Does anyone have any information or experiece about this? Ellen

Regular medicare and medicaid are better than the garbage that the private industry gets into. The reason the private industry gets involved at all is because they get paid by the government to cover you, then they make money by not covering as much as the government would (or attempting to). The government covers what they said they will no matter what. The private industry will stick it to you any way they can to make a profit, that's their job. Go with the regular medicare and medicaid everytime.

I guess what I was most interested in is whether people's experience is that doctors are more likely to take regular Medicaid than HMO Medicaid. Does anyone know that. Ellen
