Hi all, I have been reading this forum for may months and would like to get some feedback on my current treatment protocol. I am a bit frustrated with my current treatments (I see two doctors...one naturopathic, one LLMD - only one in my state).

I was bitten 9 months ago, developed small red rash around bite, then progressive symptoms such as red papules on skin, muscle twitching and electrical impulses, vivid dreams, and dizzyness/brainfog. Luckily I can still work, my case is not bad compared to many, and would like to get things resolved before they get worse!

After extensive and expensive testing my LLMD has me only on Rifampin 300mg/day (tried Levaquin first and had an allergic reaction). I had asked him to add Zithromax to this but he declined. Have been on Rifampin for about 2 weeks now with no herx or other effects. I tested neg for Bart but due to neuro symptoms that's why I'm on Rif.

My naturopathic doctor (seeing for 5 months) has been much more help, and she does a blood smear at every visit, where we look at my blood together. She has had me on Cat's Claw, Artemesinin, Ifl-Zyme to digest cyst form, and of course vitamins. Recently added one pill of Diflucan and Candibactin (oil of thyme and oregano) for yeast. For detox I do chlorella and bentonite clay. About 4 weeks ago I also started taking Dr. Z's herbs (which make me even more spacey!). At my last visit she was seeing lots of the cyst form of Lyme in my blood.

So, after researching here I am going to ask her for Tindamax (she suggested Alinia, but I don't feel like that's a proven cyst-buster). I feel that I should also be on another abx to cover the various forms of Lyme, but am having trouble figuring out which one to ask for. Zithromax/Biaxin seems like a common add-on, but a drug interaction site suggests this is not a good combo with Rifampin.

Any advice on what abx to add??

Anemone,

First congratulations for having caught this quickly.

Second, next time you see your naturopathic doc ask about Olivir (Olive Leaf). It is a natural anti-virual, natural cleanse and anti-baterial. I take this with the Cat's Claw and it has been a winning combination.

Recently I added Colloidal Silver as well. PM me if you would like the name where I purchase it. It has been the least expensive for the amount. This has helped tremendously as well.

As far as ABX, I have only been on the Zithromax, Bactrim and Flagyl. So I am of little use there. I am allergic to Penicillin and Doxy.

Tomorrow is my appointment with my blood smear as well. I will try to get a little more info and see if I can come up with something.

Hope this helps! Feel better soon!

Getting better it feels like. Added Colloidal Silver to the ABX, Olive Leaf and Cat's Claw. HUGE difference!

Hi Lost,

Thanks for the reply!! My mom currently makes colloidal silver water, so I'll get some from her. I am aware of a product called Olivirex, so I will get some from my doctor at my appt. next week. I'm glad that has been a good combo for you. How long did you take it before seeing improvement in symptoms?

Hopefully some other folks will reply with abx combos!

I forgot to mention that I also take lots of probiotics.

Good luck,
Brooke
