I thought Rifampin had to be paired with another drug to be effective, or most effective. But I know Rifampin does it Bart....they paired it with Levaquin with me. I had to quit both because the Levaquin tore up my body. By then, I quit the llmd and didn't know where else to turn. I didn't want to go it alone without blood work, etc. and my pcp wouldn't be responsible for me even thought I would have ordered the med online.
I still have a full bottle of Rifampin, half a bottle of Levaquin, and refills on both I need to fill, just in case I will self treat, which I am going to do very shortly.
Sorry, I wasn't much help. I just shared my experiences, really didn't answer you question. Everyone on here is so knowledgeable, they can always help.

Depends on your daughter's age. Read what Burrascano says on p. 24

I just tested positive for Bart. I started taking Riphamin, mino, and allenia and plaqunil. But I also have lyme, babs, erchilcia, and now bart. So I hit the jackpot.
This is my first time on Riphamin and I tried Levaquin once about a year ago and it was too painful for me. The Riphamin in combination with those meds has completely knocked me out. I sleep about 18 hours a day. I am totally non-functioning.
My LLMD did tell me the fear with using Riphamin is that often times it stops working. I forget exactly why that happens but you need to take it with something else and monitor your herx/symptoms so that you don't waste your time on a medication that may no longer be working.
Good luck

So Dr B says Levaquin for about 3 mos or so, correct?
That sounds reasonable....I just started Levaquin...
