Well, I managed to do something I have never done before--I took my Rifampin whole, without breaking the pill open and putting it in applesauce.
So why do I feel so weird now? I got through the feeling like it was stuck in my throat, now I just feel--weird.
Kind of nauseated and still feel like my throat is tight.
What, is there something in the capsule casing or something? Or is it just psychological?

I get the same feeling when I swallow a certain size pill or vitamin and sometime even food. I also have a tightness in my throat most of the time and sometimes feel like I am choking to death.
I think it is Lyme related but not sure in what way. Either muscle spasms in the throat or maybe neurological, like cranial nerve involvement. Not sure. But it sucks!

Yeah, I have NEVER been able to swallow pills, and it's only been recently that I can swallow some.
I should add that the only way I swallowed these, as well as my magnesium pills, is to take them with soda.
Something about the carbonattion seems to make it possible. But I know you're not supposed to take pills with soda.

there is a supplement called "zypan". It is hydrochloric acid. It is the only brand I can take. When I get the choking sensation, I take one and all goes away. You can check it out on www.standardprocess.com. Your local chiropracter probably carries it. You can call standard process and they will tell you the nearest place to buy it. Maybe worth a try?
