I get a strange congested inflamed feeling in my windpipe, lungs and diaphragm and have a tugging sensation in my upper spine when this happens. Also, if I use my massager and hit that spot in my upper spine it makes my lungs feel like they're going to explode and makes me cough. It's like that spot in my spine is connected to my lungs somehow. I know it's weird but does anyone else get this? It also feels like my heart is skipping beats when this happens sometimes as well.

....am wondering too if this could be a fungal issue. I just started up Diflucan, Nystatin and Grapefruit Seed Extract again. Diflucan about 3 days per week and Nystatin in between. I should mention what other meds and supplements I'm on too....

Bicillin injections
Biaxin
Armour Thyroid
Zyrtec
Grapefruit Seed Extract
Diflucan
Nystatin
NAC
Glutathione
Alive Vitamins
and extra Magnesium and Vitamin D
Fish Oil
New Chapter Probiotics
Jarrow S. Boulardii+MOS
Factive (5 days per month)

Thanks Betty!

I kind of have a couple of theories now. I was exposed to mold a couple days prior so maybe that had something to do with it but this use to happen to me without being exposed to mold. I also started up Diflucan, Nystatin and Grapefruit Seed Extract again so maybe it's a yeast die-off.

To me this sounds like GERD. The stomach acid washes into your esophagus and into your trachea and bronchial tubes, causing the burning, of course, but also can cause a cough, hoarseness and wheezing and referred pain to the back.

When mine is really bad I also get a pain between my shoulder blades, a dull thick pain in my sternum and a skippy feeling in my chest like heart palpitations. The burning itself isn't so bad, but these other symptoms can be.

Hmmm....those symptoms sound similar to mine except for the burning. I do notice more heart feeling like skipping if I eat too much though so maybe there is a connection. Maybe combined with some type of allergic reaction maybe even to foods. My back feels more sore and stiff though and like a tugging sensation in that spot in my upper spine that feels connected to my lungs. My upper back and chest are always sore and stiff along with my neck.

Hey Laura...sorry to ask the obvious: what candida tests have you had (blood)? Were you tested for the zillion other specific strains of candida?

I believe one was an antibody test which I tested positive for and I also had allergy testing done (skin) and I'm very allergic to candida and mold.
