I am about to start Septra possibly with Biaxin and stressing about it pretty badly.

Did most of you use Septra/Bactrim w/another abx, if so which one?

I admit, I am nervous about starting anything new, I have been "stable" on my current abx for a long while, but I have plateaued and feel like I am getting worse the past few months for sure.

My LLMd has said if it is going to work, it will work faster than most abx and that IF it is going to work you will notice fairly quickly.

What were your experiences good and bad.

Thanks in advance.

It depends on what infection you are targeting, I used it for babesia, combining it with a cyst buster. I didn't have any problems with it. Be sure to read the prescription info. I believe it may be one you have to stay out of the sun with and maybe avoid dairy within a couple hours of taking it. Can't remember.

If you are concerned about negative reactions, you might ask about starting with a tiny dose, maybe cut the pill down to 1/8th size. Bactrim had little effect on me, barely felt it, which was very different from other abx. YMMV

Just started Bactrim, and have definitely noticed it doing something

Feels like I have the flu, getting headaches, and I have been running a fever of around 100-101 the past several days..

I have been on Bactrim now for over 5 months. For me, it's treating babesia, lyme and bartonella.

I have no problems with it at all.

Well sounds good so far...I am targeting Bart. BUT even though I have negative Babs test over and over I am suspicious and it could hit it as well.

Thanks for your responses.

Helped me turn the corner..took bactrim/zith for months for bart and babs. I think since it targets both, neither one has a chance to gain the upper hand.
