Hello everyone.

I have a question. Has anyone taken this antibiotic.

I was on the doxy for a month and after I was off I felt fine for about a month.

Then I went down hill fast and furious with even worse symptoms than before.

My doctor just put me on this med yesterday.

500 mg 3 times a day. Any info is appreciated thanks!

It is a good treatment to start with. Some of us take greater quantities per day of ceftin, twice a day rather than 3x day.

Be sure to take lots of probiotics at least 2 hours away from the antibiotic, that will help protect your GI tract.

Has your doctor tested you for co-infections?

Thanks for the tip.

She took blood from me yesterday to send for testing for co-infections.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Having the Lyme is enough.

Thanks again for your reply.

i recently started and had a trigeminal neuralgia episode the day after i started-others on here have had similar stuff happen-if you search ceftin i think you will see some discussions

i am hoping to start again at really low dose and work up...i am hopeful it will do a lot for me-maybe finish off the lyme like it did for dr b and pam weintraub(she talks about it in her book)
