I just recently stopped Minocycline because I thought I was having an allergic reaction. My head would swell really bad, my heart would pound and as I stayed on it longer, I started feeling like my breath was being knocked out of my chest.

I told my doctor. We thought it was an allergic reaction so he switched me to Amoxicillin.

I've been on Amoxicillin now for a week. Now it's starting to do the same thing...take my breath away, make my heart pound. It's not swelling my head though like the Mino (yet).

I'm confused now...can the knocked-out breath thing be a herx?? Have any of you experienced this from antibiotics? I want to hear that you have because I'm starting to scare myself that this might be candida.

I have chronic lyme and am very familiar with the flu-type herxes...I think that's why I'm worried this might be yeast.

This weird symptom comes over me like 1-2 hours after I take the pill.

Did you go from Doxy to Mino? Sounds very herxie to

me but I would be sure to do something to keep away

yeast. I as a patient think if your going swimming

with the sharks you better take the cage.

yep, I went from Doxy to Mino. Then from Mino to Amoxicillin. I never got this side effect from Doxy but did from Mino and Amox.

Yep, I am definitely being careful with the yeast.

It is too easy to blame all the bad reactions from the antibiotics on "herxing". I have gone through the heart pounding every time I stay on any kind of antibiotic. The last time was while on Zythromax. It was so bad that I went to the cardiologist three days in a row. I was told to stop the zythro and three days later, my heart went back to normal...

The same has happened to me with some variance. Just recently went through doxy again, ticker problems have been gone for a couple of years now, came back about 2 days into the abx.

Drink lots of water and take multivitamins. My heart mis-beat only happened when I was dehydrated until I started back doxy. Just gotta take it easy. Lymes likes to fight back when you try to kill it.
