Ive been doing well in recent months, having stopped abx about 4 months ago. Except for 1-2 relapses that my LLMD thought was yeast related, not lyme, Ive been doing most normal things.
About 10 days ago I went to my pcp dr because of a skin breakout on my neck thats been going on for about 3 months. The dr thought it was follicultis (basically inflammation, possible infection of that area), that was being aggravated by shaving.
He prescribed erythromycin for a month. Its 400mg 2x daily.
After a week on the abx, I suddenly came down with a bad headache last Friday night (I thought migraine). I was wiped out on Saturday morning and that afternoon I went out to eat with the family at a restaurant. Within an hr of eating, severe IBS hit me. That rolled into flu like symptoms of hot/cold, nausea, cramps that night.
Today Ive had a burning scalp and some of the old anxiety feelings roll back in.
Soooo... is this a return of lyme?.. is this all migraine related?.. was the IBS food poisoning (it hit me really fast within an hour, and other family members didnt feel the greatest that night either).... or... is it possibly a herx from a different biotic, or yeast, and not lyme related at all?
Im just a little confused at this point because up untill that migraine/IBS I was having the best month since this all started 3 years ago. Now Im feeling crappy while typing this and praying it isnt a lyme relapse.
Any thoughts?

As one who has been in remission for about a year and a half, I truly hate to read this, as I know how frustrated you must be. Can't say for sure, but it sounds like a Lyme herx, unless you have side effects to erythromycin and the macrolides, in general. You also likely do have a yeast problem / folliculitis on top of it all. (There was a post about folliculitis here within the past couple of weeks; do a search...)
I know that azith gives me terrible bowel problems (loose) and I can take very little of it, else I'm not leaving the house all day.... Are you taking Diflucan or Nystatin at all? I'm well away from abx tx and still, I have yeast problems because of the intestinal trauma of it all. Also, still have to take plenty of probiotics.
Wish I could tell you something definitive... Surely there will be others along that have more info than I do. So sorry to hear this is happening to you. It's a terrible thing.

Well, the weekend headache, into IBS, has rolled into ... a common cold...
I havent had a cold in 3 yrs since this all started. So now Im thinking that this past weekend was another yeast episode (I had been eating poorly prior to the headache...bagels, breads, sugars), and I think the yeast with going out to eat (something in the cooked food hit me pretty fast), explains that mess..
Either that or it was some type of flu/virus.
But now I have the A typical cold symptoms of runny nose, sore/scratchy throat, tired and muscle aches.
Didnt I read somewhere that having a cold is a good thing if you have lyme because it means your immune system is back to normal and the lyme is gone and no longer the leading immune system problem?
