41 KD is the AB to the Flagella. It is usually one of the first bands to test positive on a WB.

While this band in itself is not specific to Bb, the ELISA is.

It is likely that this is early infection, though some co-infections can impact the immune response. This could also be seen in later infection when co-infections are present.

Are you aware of a recent tick bite?

I am not aware of any bites ever.

But this year we did make several deep woods hikes where Deer where within a few feet of us.

I had Deep Woods Off all over me, boots, and long sleeve white shirt. I used caution to not touch any foliage.

Is 1.72 very high?

I have several pages of lab work here, but its basically Japanese to me.

My Dr said he feels confident there is no co infection present and that he caught it in time.

Im still confused though.

also, what is AB and Bb?

Would 6 weeks of 400mg Doxy kill this?

What is ELISA?

joint pain, flu like dizzy, extreme fatigue, headache, brain fog, anxiety.

Once I started Doxy my joints felt like they were exploding and 4 weeks in I got a raised rash on both hands, 1st fingers only, really weird.

AB is antibody and Bb stands for Borrelia burgdorferi (lyme disease). Elisa is the initial screening test most docs use to check for lyme. There are many false results on this test.

I do think you have lyme based on your symptoms and test results. Are you still having symptoms? Are you finished with Doxy?

Leigh:

You must be my twin as this is precisely how my Lyme has played out this summer. I know exactly when I got the tick, found it 3 days later, and promptly removed it. 7-10 days later my symptoms started with h/a on left side of head that would "pulsate" to back of head. Same sx, basically, as you've described.

Got put on abx with no Lyme test. Dr. said tests are unreliable. After 3 weeks of doxy (100 mg. 2/day) and a near fainting episode, got switched to about 3 weeks IV Rocephin to get aggressive with it.

Lyme test came back. ELISA number was 2.66 (what's the significance of that number?).

Tested positive only on Band 41.

Felt better. Stopped abx. Then 2 weeks later symptoms returned and were much worse.

Based on what little I know (I'm a newbie and still learning a lot), if I were you I'd stay on 400 mg. of doxy until you have no symptoms for at least another 6 weeks.

Also, get tested for co-infections. I had/have Erlichiosis, and now thinking bartonella as well.

yes I still have bad joint pain, and severe fatigue.

I finished my 6 week run of Doxy this past Friday, and was happy to be done!

Dr said a few more weeks of feeling crappy. He wants the Doxy to leave my system then go from there.

He ran Erlichia AB IGG, Chaffeensis AB IGM,

Babesia Microti IGG, IGM

Lyme AB, IGG, IGM

How do I know if the ELISA teat was used?

He told me to not worry myself with all this and just listen to him.

I trust him completely, but Im not the type to just sit and listen.

I am starting to remember a few months back, getting a big circular mark on my arm after being in the woods.

It reminded me of wheals I had from an allergic reaction to penicillin. I showed my husband saying "look at this wheal, I wonder if Im allergic to something, it doesnt itch"

Then shortly after I felt like I had a bad flu.

That must have been it. Im such an idiot for not thinking BULLSEYE!!
