CDC states- "As many as 30,000 Americans will be harmed by the novel H1N1 vaccine. The vaccine may be ineffective in more than 7 out of 10 recipients."

I repeat, if the school tries to make that vaccine mandatory, I will pull my son out and homeschool!
I am very agaainst this vaccine. very against it.
And I know the docs are going to push for him to get it because he now has full-blown asthma.

Both of my children and whole family now have H1NI.
All on Tamiflu. However, I had already spoke to the pediatrician
And voiced my concern and opposition to the vaccine.
Now, it appears it is a mute point.
I still would not have gotten this for my family or myself.
Too many unknown variables. Too much of a "rush" to
Get it to market. Think of how many meds have been pulled
In the last few years after FDA's rush to approval.

Oh Geneal! How awful... How is everyone doing right now? I, too am scared to death of these vaccinations and the rush that's been put on them.
Please let us know how you're doing. Much support and love to you all!

Thanks Ping.
We are all okay.
The flu feels like a Lyme herx for me.
Kind of familiar territory.
Except I am contageous.
The Tamiflu is helping the children a lot.
Still low grade fever today, but much of the aches/pains are gone.
My head is killing me, but again, not unfamiliar territory.
Tamiflu is expensive!!!!
$55.00 per Rx and that is my insurance co-pay.
$150.00 without insurance.
It works against types A and B influenzas including the H1N1.
In a way I am kind of glad the decision about the vaccine is now mute.
I was scared that they were going to make me take one at work.
Now they don't have to.
Five days of pills at two a day.
Not too bad compared to other meds I've taken.
Hugs,
Geneal

Gemeal, what were your and your kids' symptoms of it? I was sick earlier in the summer and think maybe I had it, but not sure.

Hope you are all on your way to a recovery soon Geneal.
I was wondering how to tell if you had a mild case of it as well. And what happens if you get the vaccinations after you had it?
Also, I just took my kids to their well child check up. The pediatrician and/or nurse always gives the flu shot talk to us because my children have a history of wheezing with upper respiratory infections. And we get a handout on it. And there is a followup handout/letter sent in the mail. This year, nothing. No talk, no handout no letter.
On their website, it says that in an effort to go green, there will be no flu shot letters sent out, but if you are interested in one for your child to call for an appointment.
I found this to be really strange. This is a very vaccination happy practice.
Any thoughts?
