Hi, I want to know how many suffer with heart problems here?
I am getting palpatations lately, have had many tests done with this, nothing ever shows up. I am on medication for it.
What meds have you been on to help this? Should I persist with Dr.? Even when he says nothing is wrong?

hi jlynn
there aren't many on at this time of night so to find out more, here's what i suggest:
yes, many have heart problems
click on SEARCH at top
heart medical subject any date leave membership no. blank; click search
read all posts/replies; if none found; use BACK button and change subject to text; click search.
again, you should find lots of posts; i just showed heart but you might add palpatiations after heart to be more exact for this

JL,
Yes many have various types of heart problems with lyme and co's.
Its not unusual to have chest pain, heart palps, pain in the sternum, shortness of breath, air hunger, etc. while treating lyme.
That was one of my worst symptoms. I had an EKG and it came back abnormal heart rhythms (it said possible myocardial infarction-heart attack) and my MD immediately sent me to a cardiologist.
He tested with a stress eccho and it came back fine. My BPM (beats per minute) was very low, a 58, which is not unusual for us lymies.
Many folks here have complained of numerous trips to the ER with heart issues, mostly finding nothing.
Usually it clears up with treatment. Mine did, and I also use a magnesium supplement.
If you do a search on heart or palpitations, you will get loads of threads on it.
Do always consult your doctor tho.
Good luck

Hi everyone, Thanks for your answers. I have had most testings done. From an ultrasound of my heart, and many Holter monitors done.
All showing nothing of concern. At the age of 19 I was diagnosed with MVP. Now that diagnosis changed a few years back with a newer cardiologist, that said he didn't find anything.
I've been doing alot of self help as far as nutrients go. I have been taking some supplements. All that are suppose to be good for the heart as well. Have not really started on the Lyme treatments yet.
Looking for a Dr. around my area. I had a positive Elisa test with Western Blot back in 2000, but have had alot of late stage symptoms of Lyme disease now. Testing hasn't shown a thing though.
My family Dr. doesn't think I have it anymore. I want to see what I can do, because I feel he has missed something more.

JL,
Do seek a lyme literate doctor!
The best lab at the moment would be Igenex in CA and they specialize in tick born diseases.
You should also be checked for coinfections, which are organisms that travel with the lyme bacteria.
Here is great source of information written by the top lyme doctors in the USA. You may want to print for future reference. It also has recommended supplements too.

the only thing that helped my heart palpitations is premier research co-quinol COq10 in nanonized form
i will also take standard process cardio plus, about 10 a day and that helps
before i discovered these two things nothing would help the heart pounding at all, And nothing showed up on blood work or EKG but normal
