I have been tested for Lyme two times. One is called a tick panel which was sent to a local hospital with my last LLMD and another one with Igenex for lyme only and both of them never showed positive except Igenex one he said one of the bands were a bit too high i still have to get a copy.

In the tick panel i was tested for co-infections but not with Igenex and it came negative.

I really feel like with severe gastro intenstinal symptoms i have bartenolla and i have been on Biaxin and amoxy for about 7 months now. I am better but feeling like a fall down for the last two feeks again.

Is there any one good test for barts? Can you only have barts and cause such severe stomach issue and neuro symptoms and not have lyme? How can you just catch barts....?

I still need to go see my doc but i am just so confused and loosing hope.

You can get bartonella from a scratch of an infected cat. In that case you wouldn't get lyme too unless you get lyme by another means.

I tested positive for Bartonella by a generic lab you could try whatever lab your insurance covers for normal testing. I did my test for that through whatever my insurance normally pays for and came back positive.

They only tested my for bartonella henselae which is only one out of many possible strains, so a negative test won't mean you don't have it, the same is true with Lyme.

Radfaraf,

Do you only have bartenolla? Do you have lyme as well?

One of my biggest symptoms is GI issues....do you have any stomach symptoms?

Both lyme and bart, I have chronic constipation. My stomach itself seems well behaved, just not the lower part of my GI system.

Do you have pain in the soles of your feet?

Or in your ribs these can be signs of bart also, I believe i have it as well,

but cant test for it right now because of the money.

But then I think why waste the money on a test that is really unreliable anyway , being that there are strains out there like said before not being tested for.

It is hard to treat also.

Specific abx must be used or natural remedies are the choice alot of people are doing it is expensive.
