I have a positive RMSF IgM (was 2 months before treatment with 100 mg Doxy 2x pd. I don't think that is enough but can't find the Treatment guidelines (I have them from my daughter who had 20+ yrs of Neurological Lyme-so I know too much. I have lots of ?'s Hope someone can answer. 1. Does anyone else have RMSF and how are you being treated? 2. Should I see a LLMD immediately? (my GP put me on the Doxy right away.) I have 2 months supply, but do not want to wait if I need more treatment, in other words, will it always get worse?
3. Who is the best LLMD in NJ for this disease? I know a Dr. but it is 100 miles away. 4.Is it true the CDC guidelines for treating RMSF are more aggressive than for Lyme, due to the deaths from RMSF? I read this on a medical website (I saved it) Can post it if allowed. I am not new to Lyme-have seen it all with my daughter, but need specific answers so I know what to do next. Thank you to anyone listening and who can answer my ?'s Truly

Were you referring to the Lyme Disease Association's doctor referral link (LDA Dr. Referrals)? I hadn't heard of any problems.
or did you try posting a request on Lymenet in "Seeking a Doctor"?
I'm a little confused by your post.
RMSF is probably the only tick-borne infection I haven't been diagnosed with. Sorry I can't provide any personal insight or experience there. Hopefully someone else can.
I do know that you are less likely to be completely ignored by your primary care physician with RMSF than Lyme.
