I started treating bart with rifampin about a month ago and have noticed that i have lost aroun 7 lbs since then...is this related to bart or the meds??

Hi Diana. I believe Rifampin can cause weight loss, I don't know if Bartonella can.

I lost about 5 lbs but it stopped there. In month four and doing ok.

I also noticed a 5lb weight loss so far taking Rifampin. Been taking it for almost a week.

I have been reading Dr. S in Florida feels that Bartonella causes weight gain and proper treatment reduces weight back to normal. I have not had enough Bart treatment yet but am definitely in the group that has gained alot since Bartonella has become top dog over Lyme or Babs. in the last 5 months.
