Wondering if anyone here can shed some light on this. I've been having a "hum" in my back, neck, and head during sleep for nearly a year now. When taking zithromax, these vibrations become much stronger.

Any idea why this would be? I'm not sure if I should assume these are neurotoxins irritating my nerves or if something else is the cause. It always comes on strong after about 4 hours of sleep.

Thanks for any light you can shed on this.

Will

greenbow,

do you have coinfections or lyme alone?

I had this symptom before being dx with Lyme. I noticed that it went away when I was on Doxy but when I started back on Zith the internal vibrations came back strong. Mine always happen when I am waking up and goes away as soon as I get up and moving.

My twin sister is the opposite, hers happens when she is falling asleep and Doxy has made hers worse.

I just think it has to do with inflammatioin and irritation from killing keets. I guess...

I tested neg. for co-infections but strongly suspect Bart.

IckyTicky,

We should keep in touch. It sounds like we are fighting the same thing. Do you have other symptoms are just the vibrations?

I too have these internal vibrations, they seemed to always get worse with abx change or increase. Just began Zithromax last week and they have almost disappeared. Mostly have upon awakening in the morning but not this morning for the first time in a long time.

Only other thing I can think of is I began Buspar for anxiety last last week.

I did notice after a few days on Zithromax internal vibrations were getting better. I hesitate to say they are gone as with all my symptoms as soon as I do they come back [Frown]

I had this before lyme dx in June this year and they got alot worse when I began first abx Doxi, as well as anxiety got worse. So this day Zithromax and/or Buspar seem to be working, I won't go beyond to tomorrow but will be hopeful.

Just wanted you to know you are not along lots of people have PM'd me when I post about this.

Mayberry..I have PLENTY of other symptoms.
I have hyper reflexes, clonus, I get weird zaps here and there, like tingling zaps. Body wide muscle twitches, just to name a few. But the vibrations are just a weird phenomenon that drives me nuts. That kind of vibration is just hard to truly describe isn't it?

I also have another weird thing that happens when I am waking up... it's like my hearing blinks off and on every couple seconds. It stops as soon as I open my eyes. It's like she sound of being dunked under water... I can hear, now it's muffled like I'm under water, I can hear, now it's muffled, I can hear... I think it is some sort of seizure activity but who knows. No doctor I have spoken to has ever heard of such a symptom.

My twin sister JUST started getting this symptom a month ago. I think I have heard one other person on here say they had the same thing happening to them. I figure it won't kill me... I'v had this for about 3 years now.

I use to have severe racing heart, palpitations and jumped at every little noise like my fight or flight response was constantly on adrenaline rush! That has gotten a LOT better with treatment.

I do wonder if there is a specific co-infection causing these vibrations. Seems that not everyone has them, but a lot do.

oh, i get this in the evening...about 5 then about 7 it goes away...it is like my face is vibrating off..i swear when i look in the mirror it will be shaking but, it isn't ...
i think the zithro has improved mine..i got it bad on the doxy..went away on rocephin..then when i went off all abx it came back and now it is getting better again..
i think it is the bacteria being aggrevated by the abx or if you get off it is the bacteria trying to take over again... i feel your pain!

I get this in the evening, especially noticable when I am trying to relax or go to sleep. It feels like an internal vibration, sometimes running all through my body and sometimes located in a more specific area. Very weird sensation.

I get my vibrations also in the morning about 5 pm to 6 pm. This is the time for bowels according to Chinese medicine.
I also get the racing heart. It is horrible.
I have the Fry test with protozoa or ...
but Dr. S called it bartonella. Do not have Lyme confirmed and babesia is neg.

I think it is vasculitis. I also have little broken blood vessels on feet and swollen ankles.
I am not on abx, only Z meds.

I am always so thankful about these posts, no doctor will believe you.
I started to use magnesium oil on the skin (slowly increasing) and it was better, but today it is bad.
I also got rid of my mattress ( was mold free ) and the bedframe.
The textile on the frame was with some fire retardant and this made it worse. My brain is better since I have no bed.
It is better if I rife a bartonella frequency every day.

Update my Zithromax began full dose 2 zithromax per day 4 days ago. Last night it all hit me, not much sleep even with help from Xanax, etc.

When I begin any abx 3rd or 4th day is I guess my herx day. Herx last longer with Doxi and Ceftin but with the Zithromax I think the one dose only gave me one or two day of this herx (vibration/shakes/anxiety),

Will see how today goes...

I guess Zithromax wouldn't do anything to me if I didn't have Lyme disease? So would this be considered a more positive dx that with abx feel worse before better towards the end of abx round. Then switch to next abx in line.

I remember taking Zithromax for illness in my life, body aches sore throats and with in one or two days felt well. No reaction, no herx. Only now I am assuming this is lyme herx reaction to abx?

Does this seem to be in line to what we are all experiencing to a point?

Just trying to get some comparison and verification of the lyme for me. 12 weeks of abx and I feel like the only improvement I have made is slight, almost like before I was on abx. I got immediately worse when began Doxi, now 12 weeks later I may be back to square one. So now hopefully I can climb the hill over the top and work my way down to the recovery?

Oh please let this be... [confused]
